2022 Goals, Plans and Resolutions

Writer's picture: Ryan ReedRyan Reed

Hopefully everyone has recovered from their New Years plans by now, and are putting their goals together (or already making progress on them). Some years I make resolutions and some years I just make a list of goals. It seems to work better when I set goals instead of resolutions (I don't know if there is an actual difference by in mind there is).

Below is my list of goals, both professional and personal, that I want to accomplish in 2022. Most of them are small with the possibility of growing bigger. The reason I did this is so the list is less intimidating. You will also see that a lot of them work towards to 2 big goals I listed at the bottom. I also wanted to post this list so I can look back in a year and see the progress. Yes, I could just write them down on paper or a notepad, but I would 100% lose them that way.

To sum up the list, it is to live a happy, health, successful life. What are you goals/plans for 2022?

Professional

- Create a blog post at least once every 2 weeks (taking suggestions on topics).

- Create percussion education content on YouTube and other social media platforms (taking suggestions on topics).

- Finish my book. I started this a few years ago, and actually announced it on a podcast and then covid happened so I paused it. If feels like the time is right to actually finish this.

Personal

- Read every day (already started this one and feel like I have read more in 2 days than I did all last year haha)

- Eat better (aka - get back to cooking more and less fast food)

- Get back into the gym starting with 2-3 days a week

- Continue to remove negative influences from my life

- Write some music for fun

- Give dating another shot (been very focused on myself over the last few years which is what I needed)

Big Goals (may take more than 1 year)

- Lose 80 pounds

- Fill out my writing availability
